01 About

From patient monitors to public platforms

Masud Rahman is a Bangladeshi-Finnish technology leader based in Helsinki. Over more than twenty years he has worked at the two ends of an unusually demanding spectrum: regulated medical-device engineering, where a defect is a patient-safety event, and national digital infrastructure, where a single design decision reaches millions of citizens.

He spent a decade at GE Healthcare Finland — first as Test Lead and Scrum Master, then Product Owner, then Program Manager — releasing Class C patient-monitoring systems under FDA, MDR, MDD and ISO regimes, and leading engineering teams across the United States, India, China, Mexico and Finland. Before that came eight years as a Senior Software Engineer at Nokia.

Since April 2025 he has served as Chief Technology Advisor at a2i under Bangladesh's ICT Ministry, setting national digital-transformation direction. There he leads 45 engineers and consultants, coordinates more than 200 domain experts across government, and manages a portfolio of over 30 vendor partnerships.
